As much as I thrive on the super-duper creative shoots where the outfit is interesting and the poses are quirky and I try a bunch of new techniques I gotta say…
Sometimes it’s nice to just do an easy-breezy chill sesh.
I think it’s the most relatable type of session but I’ll be honest and say that I personally tend to dismiss them because they aren’t ‘difficult’ or ‘unique’ enough and people expect more of me (that’s all in my head). I forget that sometimes simplicity is really quite captivating and beautiful. Oh, and that I can capture it just as well as those elaborately styled photoshoots in the woods. All that REALLY matters at the end of the day no matter what style you gravitate toward is that the person in the image looks good.
Clearly, if you have eyeballs, you can see that Megan looks amazing so I accomplished the mission. And she looks like herself, or one version of herself. We ALL contain multitudes and this is just one facet of who she is.
I still did some neat stuff like placing her in front of the chrome fridge for the neat light effect and photographing low through the table legs and climbing on top of counters to get above and capture unique perspectives. So there’s some creativity for ya. Nothing is ever cookie cutter with me, even relaxing-at-home shoots.
Also, this is a reminder that you can always borrow clothes from me either as an addition to what you have brought or for the whole shebang. I have quite a collection, both for client use in ALL sizes and gender expressions, and if you’re in line with my (as in ME and my own body) sizing you can literally use stuff from my personal wardrobe. I have amassed some seriously neat shit from all of my years touring and antiquing and thrifting. Sometimes the outfit you bring just needs a little somethin’ somethin’….like one of my vintage silk kimonos. I have been known to take the sweater off my back if I think it’ll help the shoot. In fact, almost every shoot in my portfolio has either the entire wardrobe provided by me or additions from my closets. You’ll NEVER have to worry about having nothing to wear with me. (But it’s also equally fun to go nude!
Okay, on to the reason why you’re really here…
