I’m a big fan of juxtaposition. I love delicate with powerful, antique with cutting edge, serenity amidst chaos. I live to smoosh things together.

My favorite thing to do is go off a vague idea or image and create an entire concept around it. The base inspiration for this photoshoot was a peachy orange orchid image I saw. So I got to thinking about how I could create something in the vein of a human hothouse orchid but realized that most orchids are existing in non-native environments. In my personal life I’ve been ruminating about how I’m existing out on tour in a non-native environment. And despite how hard that is, I’m still alive…if not exactly thriving.

Anyways, enough about me.

I chose to pair the frilly skirt with a sporty top. Add a floral headpiece mixed with combat boots. Fairytale outfit in a warehouse setting. The juxtaposition was born.

Maeve was the perfect person for this shoot. She is a veritable explosion of grace, the images speak to this.
