For the third and final look of Holly’s shoot (which we actually shot second if you care about the true sequence of events) I wanted to put her on the balcony. I absolutely LOVE working with harsh light and shadow and I knew from previous experience in this space that the afternoon sun would be forced through the wire of the balcony.

I wanted those beautifully sharp ribbons of light on her naked skin.

But I also wanted her a bit styled for some of it.

So we threw around words like STRONG and POWERFUL and CONFIDENT to get our vibe settled. And because I like boudoir that is wearing clothes but also…not, I suggested the idea of wearing nothing but a blazer and heels. She loved it, and she also brought a really cool sculptural necklace of her mom’s to wear.

I have to say that it was so cool to witness Holly bringing out her fierce side. There is a very real vulnerability in being buck ass naked in front of another human being outside in bright, sunny daylight. I don’t know if she is just naturally comfortable in her skin or if it’s a testament to how at ease she is with me or a combination of the two, but we created some really amazing images that really showcase this force of a woman!

I won’t say too much more except that if YOU (yes I’m talking to YOU) have ever thought about doing a shoot with me…maybe ya should. It’s a wonderfully beautiful mess of artsy fartsy creative play unique to you.

Onto some of the shots!-
